JEFFERSON CITY | Former Republican Party official Ann Wagner will serve as chairwoman of Roy Blunt’s U.S. Senate campaign.
Blunt said Monday that Wagner will play a “critical leadership role” in his campaign operations. Wagner is a former co-chairwoman of the Republican National Committee and a former chairwoman of the Missouri Republican Party.
She most recently served as U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg.
Blunt, who represents southwest Missouri in the U.S. House, is the Republican front-runner to replace retiring Sen. Kit Bond in the 2010 elections.
Secretary of State Robin Carnahan is the only Democrat in the Senate race.
