Two hurt in ATV accident

Two Lafayette County residents suffered serious injuries early Sunday morning after the ATV they were riding overturned.

Both were transported by LifeFlight helicopter to Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence.

The accident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. when the ATV ran off the side of a road, overturned and came to rest on its top. Both passengers were thrown from the vehicle. Injured were Jerry Bramlett, 35, and Katie Reagan, 29, both of Corder, Mo., in eastern Lafayette County.

The accident occurred on Meinershagen Road, about 1 mile east of Black Jack Road, in central Lafayette County, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol. Bramlett has been charged with driving while intoxicated, as well as careless and imprudent driving.
