S ome fashion designers like to put their name or logo on everything just so you’ll know how important they are. Others, though, prefer to quietly turn out quality work — and let others decide just how much influence they should have.

This four-part serial narrative takes us into a Jackson County courtroom for a closeup look at one sexual abuse case -- the alleged rape of a 9-year-old girl. We follow the case largely through the eyes of the prosecutor, who has been handling sexual-abuse cases for more than a dozen years.
Well, I’m a happy camper so far. The five performances caught by your humble theater critic in the first two days of the KC Fringe Festival clearly indicate that the annual arts celebration has taken a major leap forward in terms of quality.
The arts-KC Fringe Festival, running until July 27, is jam-packed with live theater, dance, performance art, visual art, spoken word, puppetry, storytelling, film and fashion.
