It will be oddly quiet Sunday at Second Presbyterian Church.
That’s because the entire congregation will be out serving in various ways around Kansas City as part of their Be the Church Sunday project, said Alex Treaster, communications director.
Church members will be making breakfast for the homeless at Cherith Brook in the Northeast area; organizing crafts and games with homeless children at reStart; cleaning the campus and preparing a holiday craft project at The Children’s Place; working at Newhouse for victims of domestic violence; hosting a worship service and joining in brunch with HIV/AIDS residents at Hope Care Center.
And this being the season, there’s raking to be done at the Shepherd’s Center.
