An all-night Shavuot program June 3 will present Rabbi Tovia Singer, noted author, educator and former radio talk show host on Israeli National Radio.
His 10:15 p.m. talk, open to the public, is “The Battle for the Jewish Soul! Are the Missionaries Winning?”
Singer is director of Outreach Judaism, an organization that tries to counter evangelical Christian efforts to convert Jews. He also is known for his book and audio series, “Let’s Get Biblical.”
A panel will discuss the question, and Singer will lead a study session at 1:30 a.m. The events will be at Kehilath Israel Synagogue, 10501 Conser, in Overland Park. The Rabbinical Association of Greater KC and the Frank Morgan Fund of Kehilath Israel are sponsors.
Shavuot commemorates receipt of the Ten Commandments. For information go tokcrabbis.org.
