Men, women and their canine friends are invited to the Lake Jacomo area Sunday for Jackson County’s annual Dogtober Fest.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kemper Outdoor Education Center, visitors can enter their dogs in contests, visit booths with pet-related products and see demonstrations in obedience training, agility, search and rescue, dock diving and carting.
Dogs also will be available for adoption.
Admission is a donation of canned or bagged dog food for the Lee’s Summit and Independence animal shelters. Optional is the Tails for Trails Dog-Walk for Parks. The cost for that is is $20 in advance or $25 at the gate. Find online event registration at jacksongov.org/dogtober.
