And here’s a mystery shrub - what is it?

QUESTION:

Dear KC Gardens, Could you please help me identify this shrub? Just wondering how to take care of it, prune it, etc. Thank you, Nancy...........................................ANSWER: From the photos it is very hard to tell what plant it might be but with that being said I think it is a cotoneaster. I have figured this out by the fruit and leaf photo. This shrub is not in good health. Hard to tell its issues. But it can be pruned in the spring. It can be cut back to the ground to regrow or just given a trim to reduce the height. Hope that helps – Dennis – Johnson County Extension
