Last month, Boulevard Brewing Co. unveiled a schedule for its 2015 beer releases.
The schedule included several new brews, including two new year-round IPAs, a fall seasonal called Funky Pumpkin, and four releases of Imperial Stout X.
According to the brewery, Imperial Stout X with Coffee was made by infusing 40-degree Imperial Stout with bags of coarsely ground Ethiopian Sidamo coffee beans for at least 24 hours. The method, similar to cold-brewing coffee, produced a “subtle, wine-like smoothness” in the finished beer, according to Boulevard. (Read more about the brewing process on Boulevard’s blog).

Careful, though: At 11 percent alcohol by volume, Imperial Stout X with Coffee is guaranteed to deliver a buzz.
The next Imperial Stout X release incorporates rum and is scheduled for June. The September and December Imperial Stout X releases are TBA.
