Early this year, Dinner Lab expanded its pop-up restaurant concept to Kansas City.
For $125, local food lovers could buy memberships that granted them exclusive invites to Dinner Lab events, where emerging chefs prepare multi-course meals in unconventional locations such as art galleries and parking garages. But Dinner Lab members still had to pay for meals, which typically cost $50-80 per person and include drinks, tax and gratuity.
For some, that $125 membership fee was too much, so Dinner Lab now offers free “basic” memberships. Dinner Lab also offers Kansas City diners “select” memberships for $125. Paying members get added perks, such as advanced booking, discounted tickets and access to exclusive events such as happy hours, chef demos, seasonal parties and wine dinners.
