Boulevard’s owner Duvel-Moortgat ranked No. 8 craft brewer in the U.S.

The Belgian company that owns Boulevard Brewing Co. is No. 8 on the Brewers Association’s list of the Top 50 craft breweries of 2013

, released today.

Duvel-Moortgat, which also owns Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, N.Y., ranked higher than craft brewers such as Stone, Dogfish Head and Anchor on the list, which was topped by The Boston Beer Company, maker of Samuel Adams beer.

Duvel-Moortgat is No. 14 on the Brewers Association’s list of Top 50 overall breweries, topped by brewing giants Anheuser-Busch, MillerCoors and Pabst Brewing Co.

Last year, before it was bought by Duvel,

Boulevard was named the No. 12 craft brewery

and the No. 19 overall brewery in the United States. Ommegang and its parent company Duvel didn’t rank on either list in 2012.
