Don’t go looking for bottles of Boulevard’s Chocolate Ale tomorrow.
The
looming snowstormhas postponed Kansas City distribution of the popular limited-edition beer, which was brewed in collaboration with Kansas City chocolate maker Christopher Elbow.
Chocolate Ale started hitting bar taps today
and was originally scheduled to appear on liquor store shelves Tuesday. But bad weather has halted the cocoa beer’s flow through the metro.
Boulevard announced in an afternoon email that its Kansas City distributor, Central States Beverage Company, had postponed Tuesday deliveries on the Missouri and Kansas sides of the state line.
Jon Poteet, vice president of marketing for Central States, says the decision was made with the drivers’ and consumers’ safety in mind. Poteet says he anticipates that Central States trucks will be back on the roads Wednesday morning.
