Broadway Jazz Club is scheduled to open Friday, offering live music five nights a week and an extensive menu that includes comfort foods and signature cocktails.
Appetizers will include chicken wings, beer battered shrimp and beer steamed mussels. As for entrees, look for steaks and southern fried chicken.
The menu also will include hand-breaded pork tenderloin, old-fashioned country fried steak, chicken fried chicken, beer battered cod, pecan crusted tilapia, turkey club sandwiches, blackened chicken salad, Cajun shrimp pasta, Cajun black beans and brown rice, and baked eggplant Parmesan.
And for dessert — whiskey bread pudding, pecan pie, apple dumplings, Mississippi Mud Cake, and cinnamon vanilla ice cream.
Cocktails have a jazzy theme, such as The Count Basie (ruby red grapefruit vodka, pink grapefruit juice and simple syrup) and The Charlie Parker (raspberry and chocolate vodka, white creme de Cacao and a splash of triple sec).
It will offer live music five nights a week — perhaps rhythm and blues on the “un-jazz” Tuesdays, pianists on Wednesdays, live trios on Thursdays, and five- and six-piece bands with live vocalists on Fridays and Saturdays.
Former Jardine's general manager Pat Hanrahan is the general manager of Broadway Jazz Club at 3601 Broadway. The partners are Neil Pollock and Steve Wachsberg, along with James Pollock and Margaret Ososky, Pollock's uncle and aunt who live in Washington, D.C.
Hours will be 4 p.m. to midnight Tuesday through Thursday; 4 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday; and 6 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
