Farm to Market Bread Co. is celebrating its 20th anniversary

with a fresh-baked series of “cult breads.”

First came Sunny Black and Brown in September. Last month, it was Chili Cheese Sourdough. Next week, Farm to Market releases Black Russian, bread made with brewed coffee from

The Roasterie.

The limited edition java-flavored bread, available Nov. 8-17 at select retailers, gets spiciness from rye flour and subtle sweetness from raisins. Other ingredients include olive oil, sea salt and cocoa.

The list of stores that will carry Farm to Market’s Black Russian bread includes most local Hen House stores, Cosentino’s Brookside Market, Price Chopper in Brookside, Cosentino’s Market Downtown, the Price Chopper at 95th and Mission in Leawood, Marsh’s Sunfresh Market in Westport and the Hy-Vee at 76th and State Line in Prairie Village.

This isn’t the first collaboration project from The Roasterie: The Kansas City coffee roaster previously teamed up with

Boulevard for Coffee Ale and Clear 10 Vodka for Dizzy Three air-roasted espresso-flavored vodka.

It’s not the first collaboration for Farm to Market, either. The Kansas City bakery is backing

a new pop-up bread shop called Fresh Bread that sells loaves in local food deserts. For updates on Fresh Bread’s whereabouts, follow @freshbreadkc
