Don’t worry Waldo, your Taco Bell isn’t shutting down — at least not permanently.
The dining room of the restaurant, at 8215 Wornall Road, is temporarily closed for a major remodeling. The drive-thru will remain open until Tuesday night when it is scheduled to shut down as work starts on the back of the restaurant and the facade.
The remodeled Taco Bell is scheduled to reopen in four to five weeks.
According to city directories, a Wylie’s Burgers Chicken was in the spot until the mid-1980s. Taco Bell made the 1987/1988 directory at that location. It was a corporate owned restaurant until area franchisee K.C. Bell purchased it in 1998.
