Eater National, a national restaurant, bar and nightlife guide, has turned its spotlight on Kansas City.
Its“The Eater Kansas City Heatmap: Where to Eat Right Now”
focuses on nine “newish” restaurants getting serious buzz — from Novel on the west side to Red Door Grill and Rye in Leawood to Oddly Correct on Main Street.
A sampling of the post: “Momofuku alum Ryan Brazeal has returned to his hometown to open his own restaurant (Novel), while Beard Award-winning chef Debbie Gold has left her post at the iconic American Restaurant to open a casual restaurant with a focus on open-fire grilling (Red Door Grill). Multifunctional spaces are on the rise, like a bar that's also a fish farm (Anton’s Taproom) and a sandwich shop that lives outside of a restaurant (Pigwich). Also not to miss are sausages at the farmer's market (Derr’s Weiner Wagon), travel-worthy pies (Rye), and a coffee shop with a cult following (Oddly Correct).”
