Today the Kansas City-based brewery announced that it’s releasing another collaboration beer next week. Collaboration No. 4 Spiced Saison was brewed in partnership with Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown, N.Y. Ommegang is Boulevard’s sister brewery — it’s also owned by Duvel, the Belgian brewer that purchased Boulevard last year.
According to Boulevard, Collaboration No. 4 was brewed with sweet orange peel, lemon peel, coriander and grains of paradise. The spiced saison was fermented in two vessels. One contained Boulevard’s primary yeast strain, and the other contained Ommegang’s.
The individual batches were blended to make Collaboration No. 4 Spiced Saison, which will be available on tap in Kansas City bars on Monday, Sept. 22, and in 750-milliliter bottles at local liquor stores on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
Never miss a local story.
The beer is the fourth in Boulevard’s collaboration series. Previous releases in the series have included an Imperial Pilsner brewed with Orval in 2010, a White IPA brewed with Deschutes in 2011 and an English-inspired “Stingo” brewed with Pretty Things Beer and Ale Project in 2012.
