Nine months after it was heavily damaged by a fire, L.C.’s Hamburgers is set to reopen.
The Northland favorite, at 7612 N.W. Prairie View Road, is known for its old-fashioned hamburgers, pork fritters and Italian steak sandwiches. It shut down in mid-June and now plans to reopen on March 26.
Mark Potts purchased the restaurant in 1998 from the founders. The restaurant will return to its former glass-front spot and Potts will have an office in a middle space. Then he plans a June opening for a new operation, The Daily Donut & Pastry Shop, which will take another space in the building.
51 Main update?
A new restaurant and bar called Black Dirt is proposed for 51 Main.
The 176-unit luxury project, 51 Main is near the Country Club Plaza. Black Dirt would take a corner space on the south end at 5070 Main St.
A local restaurateur of note, listed as the contact person for the new restaurant, would not confirm his involvement. Officials with VanTrust Real Estate, developers of 51 Main, also declined to comment on Black Dirt.
