Not all that relevant when we’re hundreds of miles from the nearest coastline?
Don’t tell the folks at KC Shrimp Co. Mitch and Julie Schrieber started raising tiger white shrimp in tanks on their Oak Grove, Mo., farm about a year ago after their daughter did a science project about brine shrimp.
Mitch was intrigued and thought he could raise a few in a garbage can in the basement. But KC Shrimp has quickly grown to 14 tanks, and the Schriebers’ best customers are restaurant chefs, although individual consumers can also purchase their product direct by calling or texting to set up an appointment.
