The Boulevard Brewing Company announced Wednesday that the Royals have named Boulevard as their “official craft beer” partner.
The Royals said the agreement means more types of Boulevard beers will be available at Kauffman Stadium. Most interesting of all: Boulevard will have full use of Royals trademarks, and the company can create “new Royals products and collaborations.”
“We’ve enjoyed a long, close and mutually rewarding relationship with our hometown team, and we’re excited by the opportunity to elevate our partnership,” Boulevard president Jeff Krum said in a news release. “We hope to create unique and memorable fan experiences, and look forward to a successful season, both on and off the field.”
Boulevard was already part of the Royals Craft & Draft area at Kauffman Stadium, but according to a release from the brewery, there will be “new Boulevard experiences in the Diamond Club, the View Level and a right field ‘Hop Stop.’ ”
Boulevard has planned a celebration of its relationship with the Royals on Feb. 15 at its Tours & Recreation Center. Tickets are $10, and include a commemorative glass and beer. Some Royals alumni are expected to be on hand, and proceeds will benefit Royals Charities.
The Royals also announced that Miller Lite continue to be an “Official Beer” this season.
In a release, the club said “new signature areas will be unveiled on Opening Day, including the Miller Lite Left Field Grill and the Blue Moon Taproom atop Rivals sports bar.”
