Easy, breezy Ballard Designs

I’m not sure what it is, but something about Ballard Designs makes me think of sleepy summer mornings. Maybe it’s the soft fabrics, dusty hues and European country designs. Everything feels easy, breezy and cozy.

Ballard’s

Spring 2014 catalog is no different. Standouts include the Alessandra 5-Light Chandelier ($749), which is handcrafted from hundreds of cascading natural capiz shells and a metal loop frame, then finished in light antique gold. It would look great in pretty much any room, including the bedroom.

The Hayes Round Tufted Ottoman in Suzanne Kasler Parchment Linen ($599), which has almost three feet of space for sitting or serving, comes with a choice of seven tape trims. As a bonus, its skirt conceals a storage shelf. And finally, the Sacha Mirror ($369) is made from 100 mirrors forged onto a metal frame with extenders that allow it to hang away from the wall, giving it a three-dimensional, sculptural quality.
