Master Gardener 2015 training program is accepting applications

Johnson County K-State Research and Extension is accepting applications for its Master Gardener 2015 training program now through July 15. A meeting to outline projects and program guidelines will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Extension office.

Johnson County K-State Research and Extension is accepting applications for its Master Gardener 2015 training program now through July 15.

A meeting to outline projects and program guidelines will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Extension office, 11811 S. Sunset Drive, Olathe.

Only 30 applicants are accepted into the program, which takes place 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., every Tuesday, Sept. 17 to Nov. 19. Selected applicants are required to volunteer in a variety of projects including maintaining demonstration gardens, staffing a gardening hotline and giving presentations.

The program costs $125. Class members must be Johnson County residents.
