Do you believe in life after love?
Do you believe in much-younger lovers?
Do you believe in plastic surgery?
Yes, friends, we’re talking about Cher — singer, actress, former better half of Sonny, mom of Chastity/Chaz and idol of drag queens everywhere. Oh, and duh! One of the most imitated performers in the universe.
She’ll be at the Sprint Center in just a matter of weeks (May 31), which inspired us to come up with not one but two contests: Cher look-alikes and Cher sound-alikes. The winners in each category will receive a $50 gift card.
•Look-alike: Do you look like Cher, or can you make yourself look like Cher? (Straight hair, curly hair, spiky hair, blond hair: It doesn’t matter.) Email a current picture in your best Cher getup to email@example.com
. Put “Share Your Cher” in the subject line, and in the body of the email include your name, city and phone number. We may print your picture or we may ask to shoot our own. Our panel of judges will choose a winner.
•Sound-alike: Can you sing like Cher, or at least convincingly lip-sync to one of her hits? Bonus: Can you look and sound like her? The rules: No more than 15 seconds of singing (to comply with copyright regulations). Shoot horizontal video, not vertical. The video file should be under 25 megabytes. Email your video to firstname.lastname@example.org . Put “Share Your Cher video” in the subject line, and include your name, city and phone number. Keep in mind that we’ll post these videos to The Star’s YouTube
channel, so they’ll be out there for the world to enjoy. The one that gets the most “likes” will win our prize.
Deadline for both photos and videos: 11:59 p.m. May 19.
