Christmas just got a whole lot uglier — or cooler, depending on how you feel about ugly Christmas sweaters.
Fresh Brewed Tees just released a collection of ugly holiday sweatshirts paying homage to sports and pop culture figures, and a few showcase some of Kansas City’s own baseball heroes.
Lorenzo “Candy” Cain really was made for one of these, wasn’t he?
Never miss a local story.
Royals catcher Salvador Perez shows up on two of the $50 sweatshirts. One shows him “splashing through the snow” as he dumps a bucket of Gatorade. The other declares Salvy “Most Valuable Savior.”
That’s Eric “Ho Ho Hosmer” swinging away on the front of another sweatshirt.
No surprise, a few political types got the holiday treatment this year. “Do You Hair What I Hair?” asks a Donald Trump sweatshirt.
The current president is “Barackin’ Around the Christmas Tree” on another.
But the one that might make you cry instead of laugh depicts the beloved 17-year-old gorilla, Harambe, who lost his life in May after a child entered his enclosure at the Cincinnati Zoo.
“Haramabe Loved Christmas,” his ugly Christmas sweatshirt reminds us.
Silent night, Harambe.
