The best tracks on Willie Nelson’s new “Heroes” album are the duets with son Lukas. The striking pairing reveals that Lukas’ voice is even more pinched and forlorn than his famous father’s. Lukas’ previous performances in this area have indicated that he offers worthwhile variations on his dad’s music. “Wasted,” the latest album with Lukas and his band Promise of the Real, is loaded with roots-rock songs that echo familiar themes, including social justice and the celebration of marijuana. Yet his formidable talent as a vocalist and as a guitar slinger won’t leave fans pining for Willie on Wednesday at Knuckleheads.
