Beautillion honors community service of young African-Americans

The Johnson County chapter of Jack and Jill, a nationwide organization for African-American youth, recently selected nine African-American high school seniors for the inaugural Jack and Jill beautillion, a rite of passage ceremony similar to a debutante ball. In a county with few black people, Jack and Jill has become an important resource for local African-American families.
