George Lieberman, a former Johnson Countian of the Year, philanthropist and community volunteer, died June 8 at the age of 86.
Together with his wife, Floriene, Lieberman devoted extensive support to the University of Kansas Medical Center, Johnson County Community College and several Jewish organizations. He was deeply involved in the Boy Scouts of America and earned multiple awards related to Scouting.
A Navy veteran of World War II, Lieberman had built a career in the real estate development and building business.
The family suggests memorials to the Boy Scouts’ Heart of America Council or the University of Kansas Cancer Center.
