Award-winning Summit Custom Homes has been busy expanding in two of Lee’s Summit’s fastest growing communities, Parkwood at Stoney Creek and Foxberry Estates.
With a wide variety of floor plans, a long list of standard features and energy-efficient building practices, these homes are in high demand for buying families.
“We are really excited to be building in both Parkwood and Foxberry Estates,” said Megan Fratzke, marketing manager for Summit Custom Homes. “They are a couple of the best communities in Lee’s Summit for families, in the award-winning Lee’s Summit School District, and with close proximity to all of the dining, shopping and entertainment you could ever want.”
Parkwood at Stoney Creek, located just south of Missouri 150 highway and west of Ward Road, is currently the best-selling community in Lee’s Summit, with a total of 21 homes sold in the first six months of 2014. Parkwood is built exclusively by Summit Custom Homes.
Community amenities include two swimming pools, a sand volleyball court, two playgrounds and acres of common grounds. Homeowners enjoy easy access to shopping, dining, entertainment and healthcare options.
Children living in Stoney Creek attend the highly rated Lee’s Summit School District: Summit Pointe Elementary, Summit Lakes Middle and Lee’s Summit West High School.
Homes are priced from the high $200,000s to the mid-$400,000s.
Summit is putting the finishing touches on a new, fully furnished set of model homes featuring four floor plans that include two two-story plans, a 11/2-story plan, and a reverse 11/2-story plan. In addition, Summit is building a number of move-in ready homes that will be available soon and others that are a little further out, allowing buyers to select their own finishes if they act quickly.
Parkwood isn’t the only Lee’s Summit community in high demand. Home sales have also taken off in Foxberry Estates, an affordably priced community located on the eastern edge of Lee’s Summit just south of U.S. 50 and Missouri 7 highways. Foxberry has sold seven homes the first half of the year and has six move-in ready homes available for purchase.
“This is an excellent community, with a state-of-the-art clubhouse and pool, and convenient access to the highway,” said community manager Jeffri Rimmer. “It is, without a doubt, Lee’s Summit’s best-kept secret. Despite the fact that residents have excellent highway access, the community is a quiet, family-friendly area.”
Residents are within minutes of shopping, dining and entertainment, including the Summit Woods and Summit Fair shopping areas.
Foxberry Estates features a 4,800-square-foot clubhouse and kid-friendly swimming pool. Children living in Foxberry attend Woodland Elementary, Pleasant Lea Middle School and Lee’s Summit High School, all in the Lee’s Summit R-7 School District.
Summit Custom Homes, the exclusive builder, has six available homes in Foxberry Estates: a two-story Pembrooke, three two-story Pebblebrooks, a reverse 11/2-story Sullivan, and a ranch-style Sheffield plan. All homes are listed in the upper $200,000s to low $300,000s and are move-in ready.
With open main-level floor plans and standard features that incorporate the latest in decor trends, these homes are suited to meet and exceed the needs and wants of today’s buyer.
The homes at Parkwood at Stoney Creek and Foxberry Estates are packed with Summit’s standard features that include custom alder wood cabinetry; oil-rubbed bronze door knobs, cabinet pulls, shower door frames and lighting fixtures; stained vanity cabinets; tiled floors in all bathrooms; hand-scraped, wide-plank wood flooring in all high-traffic areas including the entry, kitchen, breakfast room, mudroom and powder room; upgraded foundation vapor barrier; a custom enameled trim package; wrought-iron stair spindles; and much more.
In addition, every home built by Summit Custom Homes in these communities includes the company’s Green Build Advantage program and is independently inspected and awarded a HERS rating to document the home’s energy efficiency.
Summit Custom Homes builds with formaldehyde-free insulation products, Sherwin-Williams low V.O.C. paints and sealants, a poly vapor retarder under the basement floor slab, low V.O.C. glues and wood products, Shawn Green Edge carpeting, Mapei tile grout with Bio-Block anti-microbial protection, and a number of other products which promote healthier indoor air quality.
“I can say with certainty that each of the available homes is beautiful, and what’s even more important is that they are built with Summit Custom Homes’ proprietary Green Build Advantage,” said Kevin Stucker, vice president of sales and marketing for Summit Custom Homes. “Our average HERS score is a 70, meaning our homes are about 30 percent more efficient than homes built to the energy code standard currently in effect. That directly translates to savings on your utility bills.”
Summit Custom Homes also backs its homes with one of the best warranties in the industry: a one-year workmanship and material defect warranty, an extended two-year warranty covering the homes’ mechanical systems, and a full 10-year warranty covering the homeowner against structural framing or foundation failures.
