Summer is one of the most charming times to live in a small town. Residents can enjoy long talks with the neighbors, leisurely sip cold lemonade on the patio and spend endless hours basking in the warm sunshine. That is unless you live in Woodland Ridge. The amenities are abundant and the activities keep people outdoors and active all year around.

“Annual community events such as the fishing derby and opening party for the pool are greatly enjoyed by Woodland Ridge residents,” said Carolyn Collier, community manager with Shelly Christ of Better Homes & Gardens Real Estate Kansas City Homes. “The events create a real sense of community. The fishing derby is held each year at one of the lakes adjacent to Woodland Ridge. This area is owned and maintained by the city of Spring Hill as a park area.”

One of the most popular spots in Woodland Ridge during the summer months is the community’s swimming pool. Residents also enjoy access to two beautiful lakes, which are part of a city park located in the community. Fishing, boating, hiking and horseback riding are also available at nearby Hillsdale State Park.

Woodland Ridge itself is built on secluded, rolling hills, which allows for many elevations and choices of home designs. Chris George Homes, the developer and builder, is also happy to help buyers take full advantage of the property with its in-house design services and experience.

Chris George’s extensive building experience allows him to modify any of his plans to suit the buyer’s needs or he can custom design a home from scratch, a service he provides without charging an extra fee.

Current inventory includes the Redwood III, which is being built on a coveted cul-de-sac at 21020 Crestview. The two-story home, which features four bedrooms and 21/2 bathrooms, is priced at $275,950 and is available for immediate occupancy.

The Yorkshire plan, priced at $276,950, will be available in 60 days at 21086 Skyview Lane. The two-story plan also has four bedrooms and 21/2 bathrooms and features a covered patio.

Also under construction are two Cypress plans, which is Chris George’s popular reverse 11/2-story plan with four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. The Cypress, located at 19312 W. 210th Street and priced at $278,950, is on one of the last remaining walkout home sites in Woodland Ridge. A second Cyrpress plan on Skyview Lane has a covered patio from which the homeowner can enjoy the flat, treed lot.

Homes also include all of the features today’s homebuyers want most: three-car garages, granite counters, hardwood flooring, stone detailing, arched doorways, bullnose corners, custom cabinetry, premium faucets, dual shower heads, tiled bathrooms and wrought-iron spindles.

George knows exactly what homebuyers want in their dream home and he’s offering it all at Woodland Ridge. Upscale finishes, excellent value, quality construction, easy highway access and family-friendly amenities are all standard in this Spring Hill community.

“Other communities create model homes with granite, hardwood floors and stone detailing, then hand homebuyers a long list of prices they will have to pay in order to get these features,” Christ said. “When you visit a home at Woodland Ridge, what you see is what you get. Everything in our model is already included in the home’s price.”

George has been building homes in the Kansas City area since 1976 and is the son of a builder. His family-owned business includes his brothers, Terry and Mike; his sons, Caleb and Chris; and his sister-in-law, Ruby. His reputation led many potential buyers to seek out his homes and the community of Woodland Ridge, Collier and Christ said. George also has many repeat customers and second-generation customers among his clientele.

Outside plans and builders are also welcome at Woodland Ridge with approval. View all the floor plans and available homes at newhomeskc.net or chrisgeorgenewhomes.com. All homes in Woodland Ridge qualify for 100 percent USDA financing.
