Whether you are looking for a home in the country, hunting property, land adjacent to the city that can be rezoned for a variety of uses or farmland as an investment, the Dunn and Holland Team of Crown Realty has a listing for you.

The Dunn and Holland Team specializes in selling rural properties, but team members Teresa Dunn and Jim Holland’s top priority is helping clients. They want to find the right buyer for a particular piece of land and then help that buyer in finding the best use for the land.

A sampling of their listings shows the variety of rural real estate in their portfolio. One such listing is a a private hunting lodge on 131 acres at 4794 W. 68 Highway in Wellsville, about an hour south of Johnson County.

The property offers gated security with a private drive to the four-bedroom, 31/2-bathroom home that was gutted and remodeled in 2008. The numerous custom upgrades include a gourmet kitchen with custom cabinets, granite counter tops and a double oven; a stone hearth fireplace in the living room and master suite; heated tile floors in the master bath; and hardwood floors. Entertain guests on the screened porch overlooking the private wooded area.

The property also includes a barn with six stalls and heavy timber teaming with wildlife, as well as a creek and meadows. This property is listed at $990,000.

Those seeking a home in the country that is close to the city may want to consider Dunn and Holland’s listing at 2325 W. 303rd St. in Louisburg. Here they will find a two-story home on 37 wooded acres, priced at $395,000.

This four-bedroom, three-bathroom home has an open floor plan and walkout basement. The expansive windows in the living room overlook a pond, woods and wildlife. Other features include hardwood floors and granite counter tops. The main level also includes a family room and the upper-level has a balcony/loft.

Investors interested in investment land in the city should consider Dunn and Holland’s listing at 5973 Ogg Road in Shawnee. This prime location along busy Johnson Drive includes 40 acres of cleared and treed green space with a creek running through it.

The property has been zoned for multifamily apartments and TIF agreements are in place, a major consideration for investors. Electrical and water service already is on the property and additional land is available.

Also on the property is a remodeled home with three-plus bedrooms, 31/2 bathrooms and mother-in-law quarters, as well as two barns with 13 stalls and an arena. This property is listed at $5.2 million.

Investors considering this property will be happy to know that the Dunn and Holland Team go the extra mile for clients, offering assistance even after closing the transaction. They have experience helping with rezoning issues, if that is needed.

The Dunn and Holland Team’s strong suit is selling farms, equestrian property, ranches and rural estate homes and each member of the team brings special talents to the table. Holland, who lives on the same farm in south Johnson County where he grew up, knows the rural community in Johnson and Miami counties. Dunn has 15 years of experience selling real estate and is an expert in all of the legalities involved with real estate transactions.

Holland has years of experience as a Johnson County businessman and with working with political entities from the local to the national level. He is past president and CEO of Holland Corporation, a major Kansas City-based Midwestern contractor and site developer. He feels his decades-long business experience translates well into helping his clients sell or buy property.

Holland extends his political experience to his real estate clients who want to rezone land which they’ve purchased or who want to understand the government regulations for agricultural property.

Holland and Dunn believe it is important that the rural community in Johnson and Miami counties has a local team familiar with its needs when it comes time for landowners to sell their property. That is why they have chosen to be affiliated with Crown Realty, an independent, family-owned real estate company with more than 40 years of experience in selling farms, homes, ranches and commercial property in rural areas.

Buying farm property varies greatly from buying homes in the city, Dunn and Holland noted. Buyers need to be aware of federal government farm regulations, know about mineral rights, understand rural utilities, septic systems and a number of other special considerations that are different from buying city property and Dunn and Holland can help them with that.

Dunn and Holland currently have numerous rural listings on both sides of the state line, ranging from small acreages to hundreds of acres. Many of them are valued at over $1 million.

They have sold properties to clients all over the United States and even to some in Japan and Canada. Although they work for an independent real estate company, each of their listings is featured on 3,000-plus websites throughout the world, with potential buyers anywhere in the world able to see the listing at the same time as buyers in the Kansas City area.
