Events celebrate Hemingway

Ernest Hemingway's 100th birthday anniversary is being celebrated this year in events and conferences around the world: from Key West to Ketchum, Cuba to Ukraine.

Some of the parties in this region:

  • July 4, Piggott, Ark. Inauguration of a Hemingway museum and conference center in the former family home of Pauline Pfeiffer, his second wife.

  • July 14-21, Oak Park, Ill. A community festival, scholar's conference and other activities in the place of Hemingway's birth.

  • Oct. 7-9: "Hemingway and War," a conference at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo.
