All five Dublin concerts by Garth Brooks, the top-selling U.S. solo artist who stepped back from recording and touring in 2000, have been canceled, broadcaster RTE reported, citing the promotions company staging the shows.

About 400,000 people were scheduled to attend the five concerts in Dublin’s Croke Park this month. The decision to cancel all the shows came after city authorities refused permission for two of the concerts to go ahead amid protests by local residents.

Brooks is expected to announce more tour dates on Thursday, July 10.
