Screenland Crossroads is planning a night to commemorate the victims of Sunday’s shootings in Orlando and to raise money for their families.
The theater, at 1701 McGee St., will show the rock musical “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Friday. A silent auction will be held between the showings. All proceeds will be donated.
“Hedwig” is the story of an East German glam rocker (John Cameron Mitchell) who, after a botched sex-change operation, launches a U.S. tour and trails her ex-boyfriend, a former bandmate who stole her music. The 2001 film, which won best director and audience awards at the Sundance Film Festival, is based on the perennial stage musical.
