‘Cold in July’: A truth that’s hard to swallow | 3 stars

The trio of actors who carry this violent, morally complex tale — Michael C. Hall, Don Johnson and Sam Shepard — have never been better. They’re a pure pleasure to watch, even when what they’re doing is, emphatically, not.
