For the 32nd year in a row, it’s almost time for the Prairie Village Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony in Corinth Square. If you plan to hit the event, which happens Nov. 30 at 6 p.m., we’ve gathered a few of our favorite Prairie Village spots to check out while you’re in the area.
If you’re a fan of Bread and Butter Concepts, the geniuses behind The Oliver, Stock Hill, Gram & Dun and more, try their twist on Italian-American dining on Mission Road. We’d recommend hitting this spot after the tree lighting—that leaves more time for libations.
Never miss a local story.
Prairie Village may not be the first spot that comes to mind for barbecue in Kansas City, but don’t let that fool you into thinking there’s nowhere to get some decent burnt ends or frog legs. C. Frogs, located on 69th Terrace, boasts an upscale menu of ‘cue, steak and whiskey—all of which should warm you right up after the tree lighting.
Follow up a packed meal of all things hearty at C.Frogs with all things sweet at Dolce Bakery. (Or just have dessert for dinner; we certainly won’t judge.) Owner Erin Brown combines her family’s traditional recipes with her own flair. And these delicacies are pretty looking, too.
Made in KC
We’d be remiss if we didn’t include Made in KC’s Prairie Village location. From locally made apparel to skincare products to coffee, this is the perfect shop to knock out some early Christmas shopping. Hint: no one will ever be disappointed in a gift basket comprised of KC-made products.
Paolini Garment Company
With the holiday season about to rev up, chances are good that a tree lighting is the first of many events in your December calendar. For clothes tailored to fit your unique body, we recommend hitting up Paolini’s for a whole new shopping experience.
