And then there were two.
After tallying more than 300 votes, we’re ready to reveal the winners in Round 4 of our March Madness-style favorite neighborhood tournament.
River Market beat Waldo with 65 percent of the popular vote, while Crossroads Arts District toppled Brookside with 62 percent of the vote. That means Crossroads and River Market will face off in the 5th and final round.
Never miss a local story.
Our bracket launched with 32 neighborhoods. Since then, readers have cast more than 1,800 votes in four rounds to narrow the field to two.
Round 4 could be the closest yet. River Market was the number one seed entering the tournament.
“River Market has the best balance of being close to the city and by nature,” says Kelsey Owens, who appeared in our August cover story. “If you want to have a variety of activities at your disposal and be able to get a feel for Kansas City without being directly downtown, it’s a really nice option as you’re trying to learn more and explore.”
Crossroads Arts District has had some stiff competition leading up to the finals, facing off with Pendleton Heights in Round 1, Roanoke-Valentine in Round 2, West Side in Round 3, and, finally, Brookside.
Which neighborhood will be the last one standing? Cast your vote through 2 p.m. August 22. We’ll reveal the winner on August 23.
