We’re down to the final four in the Kansas City favorite neighborhood tournament. And Westport is out of the running.
Readers cast 351 votes in Round 3, which yielded two amazingly close contests. Waldo scored 52.6 percent of the popular vote to beat West Bottoms. Westport vs. Brookside was a nail-biter, but ultimately, Brookside nabbed 52.3 percent of the vote.
Elsewhere, it was no contest. River Market toppled Country Club Plaza with 64.9 percent of the vote. Crossroads Arts District bested the West Side with 73.7 percent.
The competition promises to heat up even more for Round 4, when River Market goes head to head with Waldo, and the Crossroads takes on Brookside. Cast your Round 4 votes through Friday. We’ll reveal the winners of Round 4 on Monday in Ink’s Side Note, and the winner of the final round on August 23.

Micah Rose tweeted us with Pendleton Heights pride: “I love how diverse it is. I love how connected we all are. We have a garden and will be having a block party soon!”
Shon Hall reached us via email to rep Columbus Park, which was knocked out in Round 2 by the West Bottoms. “I love Columbus Park for the very reason I’m sure it’s out of the running, now: It’s relatively unknown. Our little secret can stay just that, now...”
Hall says he’s rooting for the Crossroads to take the tournament.
