This is what happens on a Sunday afternoon when millions of teens have nothing else to do but hang out on Twitter.
A Twitter user by the name of @auscalem posted a photo of a guy named Alex working at Target.
The high-schooler in question happens to be Alex Christopher LaBoeuf, who was photographed working at a Target store in Frisco, Texas, according to the Daily Mail.
Alex’s sweet face quickly caught the attention of scores of teenage girls around the world who turned him into #AlexFromTarget and a viral sensation over the last 48 hours.
Never miss a local story.
What, you haven’t seen the scads of Alex From Target memes?
People are doing impressions of him on Vine. Fashionistas are sharing “Steal his Look” thoughts: “ALEX FROM TARGET shirt: $29.99 Target pants: $35.99 Target watch: $19.99 Target bags: $0.05 Target.”
Alex himself was taken aback by the attention.
“Am i famous now?” he tweeted Sunday afternoon, followed by this just two hours later: “Now i have to change my number...”
On Monday, Target (wisely) embraced the attention by tweeting out: “We heart Alex, too!”
One person who is watching the fuss rather cautiously: Alex’s girlfriend, Lindsey Diers
She’s been congratulated by strangers for having such a famous boyfriend, but has also received death threats from other girls.
“This is kinda scaring me now,” she tweeted.
