Author Stephenie Meyer

says she knows where she would take the “Twilight” saga beyond “Breaking Dawn — Part 2,” which premieres Nov. 16. But fans might never get to know.

“I had planned out where it would go for a couple more books, so I know exactly what would happen,” she said during a junket for the film this week.

“Maybe someday I’ll write it out, just for myself. We’ll see. I’m not into permanence, so I wouldn’t say no, absolutely. I’m not going to do it today. I don’t know how I’m going to feel in five years.”

Abe alert 1

Go ahead and try to read whatever message you want into “Lincoln” when it opens in Kansas City on Nov. 16. But director

Steven Spielberg

warns against listening for political dog whistles.

The movie, starring

Daniel Day-Lewis as the country’s 16th president, has nothing to do with President Barack Obama or Mitt Romney

“People say, ‘Oh, you made it because what’s happening in politics today!’” he said. “It has nothing to do with the current politics. It has nothing to do with holding a mirror up to the way we conduct our business on Capitol Hill today. This was meant to be a Lincoln portrait, if you will. I think anytime is the right time for a really compelling story.

“I would have been very happy to have made Lincoln in the year 2000. We were ready to make it in the Bush administration.”

Abe alert 2

In other Lincoln news, it turns out that

George Clooney is a relative of the Great Emancipator. He and Honest Abe are half-first cousins, five times removed, according to The actor is a descendant of Lucy Hanks

, Lincoln’s maternal grandmother.
