Disgraced TV chef Paula Deen has some more explaining to do after inexplicably resurrecting and posting an old photo of herself posing with her son in brownface. This, from a woman who had to restart her career after using the N-word.
In the photo, taken in 2011 according to some reports, Deen and her son, Bobby, are dressed as Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
Deen wears a red wig, ala Lucy.
Bobby wears brownface, ala Cuban-born Desi.
Alongside the photo, Deen tweeted: “Lucyyyyyyy! You got a lot of esplainin’ to do! #TransformationTuesday.”
The photo and tweet have been scrubbed from her page.
Deen must really enjoy being in hot water.
Remember why she’s not on the Food Network anymore? Something about her using the N-word, being sued for sexual and racial harassment, and envisioning a plantation-style wedding with black waiters dressed as slaves.
She’s got a new daily radio show and weekly podcast now, so we’re sure that tweets like these that came her way on Tuesday weren’t expected.
