Everyone knows how much Paul Rudd loves his hometown Kansas City Royals. But is there something else he’d rather have than a World Series win for his boys in blue? Yep, there is.
And we don’t blame him one bit.
Rudd and his other Big Slick buddies were just in town over the weekend raising money for Children’s Mercy – two days of fundraising fun that included a celebrity softball game at Kauffman Stadium.
Loyal fanboy Rudd spent a lot of time at the K last year while the Royals made their World Series run, even jokingly inviting other fans to his mom’s house on the night the team got into the series.
Never miss a local story.
So the baseball question posed to him in an interview with the Associated Press wasn’t so surprising.
Would he rather win an Oscar or have his beloved Royals win a World Series?
“Without hesitation I would say I would rather win an Oscar,” Rudd laughed.
But he would take that golden hardware “to the stadium for all the players and fans to marvel at ... and maybe set it to the side and you’d rub it for luck like that big tree stump at The Apollo.”
Maybe he’ll score that coveted Academy Award for playing superhero “Ant-Man.” The new movie hits theaters July 17.
