You are cordially invited to a wedding this week, a wedding where the bride and groom say their vows while completely naked.
What you wear while watching is up to you.
Artist Ashley Fonda, 27, and sexual healer – yes, that’s his job – Alika Medeiros, 36, met on the VH1 reality series “Dating Naked.”
Sparks flew between the two, as sparks are apt to do when two people get naked together, and they decided to get hitched.
Never miss a local story.
Their new age, shaman-officiated “commitment ceremony” took place on Aug. 6 and will air on an episode of the show at 8 p.m. Thursday.
(In other happy news: The show has been picked up for a second season.)
The ceremony took place in a botanical garden north of Los Angeles in front of about two dozen guests, most of them “Dating Naked” cast members who enjoyed some naked yoga and a banquet of healthy food after the ceremony.
The bride and groom walked down the aisle clothed – the bride wanted to wear a wedding gown – but they stripped down for the vows part.
“As a little girl, I definitely didn’t picture having a naked wedding, but this was such a liberating experience,” the bride told People.
All the guests were naked, which is one reason you won’t see any of the parents and other family members there.
Apparently they didn’t like the dress code.
“My mom is more of a Christian-type person, so getting naked wouldn’t be her cup of tea,” Medeiros said. “She is happy for me but she wouldn’t have wanted to get naked in a ceremony.”
