To be honest, Eric Hosmer and Kacie McDonnell merely have to share air space in the same room to turn heads.
But at Friday night’s Gold Glove ceremonies at The Plaza in New York City, the two put on an especially chic red carpet show.
McDonnell’s figure-hugging gown evoked vintage, old-school Hollywood glamor.
And yes, that was a fur on her arm. She headed off any criticism with this description on her Instagram: “This is vintage fur. Circa 1960. Only kind I’ll buy.”
(By the way, haven’t we seen Angelina Jolie in a similar pose?)
Hosmer, who is a free agent after completing his seventh season with the Royals, seemed to pay homage to the golden statues being handed out by wearing a plush, gold-colored jacket by Gentleman’s Playbook, a custom suit designer known for dressing professional athletes.
Hosmer and McDonnell, who went public with their relationship in June 2015 when she was working as a traffic reporter at Kansas City’s Channel 41, posed for photos with his parents and brother.
This was the fourth time Hosmer has won a Gold Glove award. Last week he also won a Silver Slugger award for the first time.
The Boston Red Sox are one of the teams rumored to be interested in signing Hosmer as a free agent. McDonnell now covers the Red Sox and other Boston teams as an anchorwoman for the New England Sports Network.
