Celine Dion says she’s an “open book” to her fans, and in an interview with ABC News’ Deborah Roberts, she shows why.
Dion, 46, talked frankly about her husband/manager Rene Angelil, whose throat cancer has returned. “He’s got a feeding tube, I have to feed them three times a day,” she says, “and so I feed my husband and I feed my kids.”
Through tears, she talks about not making the situation scary or worrisome for their three sons, 4-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy and 14-year-old René-Charles. “You want to come help me feed Papa today?,” she says she will ask her younger kids.
Dion, 46, is best known for her mega hit, “My Heart Will Go On,” from the movie “Titanic.” The five-time Grammy Award winner has been singing professionally since she was 18, and Angelil, 73, has been her manager from the beginning. They married in 1994.
Dion took a year off to be with her family but now is gearing up for performances at Las Vegas’ Caesar Palace. The first show is Aug. 27; tickets go on sale March 28.
“I’m doing it for him, I’m doing it for my fans, I’m doing it for me,” Dion says.
