Legendary Australian rock band AC/DC has announced its 2016 tour, and it includes a show at the Sprint Center on Feb. 29, a Monday. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets will be available at the Sprint Center or online at SprintCenter.com or AXS.com.
This will be the band’s first performance in Kansas City since the departures of guitarist Malcom Young, who is suffering dementia, and drummer Phil Rudd, who is facing legal issues. Young was replaced by his nephew Stevie Young. Rudd was replaced by veteran rock drummer Chris Slade.
AC/DC’s previous appearance in Kansas City was at the Sprint Center in April 2010. That show followed a January 2009 show at the Sprint Center, its first Kansas City show since a September 2000 show at Kemper Arena.
