Beach House is the duo of Victoria Legrand and Alex Scally. Legrand, a native of France, sings and plays keyboards; Scally, a native of Baltimore, adds guitar, keyboards and other instrumentation. They weave and craft dreamy, ambient and often hypnotic pop songs that cast shadowy, nocturnal moods.

Few bands survive 40 years, much less sustain the original lineup. Even without bassist Michael Anthony, Van Halen fans who drop $50 to $150 on tickets to the Tuesday show at the Sprint Center are getting the three most integral parts of the band. And though it’s not the same, that’s better than nothing, some fans say.

Headlining at Sprint Center, Miranda Lambert entertains in multitude of styles

In her first headlining show at the Sprint Center, the larger venue didn’t do country singer Miranda Lambert any favors. She doesn’t bring a lot of visuals, and from the faraway seats she felt remote, diminished. It didn’t help, either, that the sound could have used a few more coats of luster. She brought a lot of good songs, though, and she played plenty of them.
