What to watch Nov. 2-8

More News

TONIGHT

“Brotherhood” returns for Season 3 at 7 p.m. on Showtime. This show won a Peabody — did you know that? “Inside the NFL” is now on Showtime, too. I dunno. Seems like HBO is finally getting a run for its, I mean your, money. If you’re new to the story of two brothers living on opposite sides of the law in rough-and-tumble Providence, R.I., there’s a helpful grid (and a sample episode) at Sho.com.

TUESDAY

“Whatever, Martha!” (8 p.m., Fine Living, digital cable). Martha Stewart has a sense of humor, but it’s usually buried in a picnic basket beneath layers of perfectly folded linen and fragile glassware. You want her to break it out, but she always seems afraid she’ll break something else.

So when I heard she had this craaaazy idea of having her daughter and the daughter of her company’s chairman watch old “Martha Stewart Living” episodes and make snarky comments, I had my doubts. But the show is a hoot. Sample exchange: “It looks like Mario Batali totally cleaned up to be with my mom!” “Too bad it didn’t work.”

WEDNESDAY

“Law & Order” (9 p.m., NBC, KSHB). The night after Election Night, what you say we all rally around the one thing Americans have in common? I refer, of course, to our undying interest in courtroom TV drama.

Yes, “L&O” is back for a 19th season and has returned to its Wednesday-night nest. Sam Waterston and S. Epatha Merkerson are back, surrounded by actors I mostly recognize from other shows. Tune in an hour early to see the excellent “Life” in its new time slot.

“Medal of Honor” (8 p.m., KCPT) looks at some of the stories behind the humble star-shaped badge that is the highest honor given to military men and women. Another special honoring our veterans, “Section 60: Arlington National Cemetery,” which I highly recommend, is still airing this week and next on HBO.

SATURDAY

“True Jackson VP” (8:30 p.m., Nickelodeon). Amanda Bynes meets “Ugly Betty” in this teen-oriented Nickcom about a 15-year-old who suddenly finds herself hired to run the youth apparel line of a major fashion designer.

Keke Palmer (“Akeelah and the Bee”) stars as the precocious fashionista in a show loaded with pratfalls and saw-it-coming punch lines. But it’s still better than half the situation comedies the grown-ups watch.
