    Emporia, Kansas native and modern art furniture maker Wendell Castle passed away at the age of 85 at his home in Scottsville, N.Y. His work is displayed around the world and his work is in the collection of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art and the Belger Arts Center. In 2002, the city of Leawood, Kan., commissioned a bench titled “Faith,” for the Brook Beatty Park.
