Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘The Master’ gets top honors from KC film critics

“The Master,” a period drama about a charismatic cult leader and his wayward follower, was voted best film of 2012 by the Kansas City Film Critics Circle on Sunday. The film also received best supporting actor for Philip Seymour Hoffman, who plays the title character, and best original screenplay for writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson.
