The Star set out to measure downtown’s progress since the dawn of the decade. The upshot: The progress has been good, but not as good as you might think.
Kansas City deserves a pat on the back for everything that’s been accomplished downtown, but the progress often hasn’t kept pace or produced results on par with downtowns in other cities.
Kansas City has made major strides to pull its downtown back from the brink. But now the prevailing worry of downtown advocates is that Kansas Citians may think the job is done.
