10K Giveaway Rules
The 10K Giveaway entry period will begin Monday, February 6, 2012 and end Sunday, April 15, 2012. Official game code ads will be published every day in the pages of The Kansas City Star during these dates.
HOW TO ENTER: Each day during the entry period an ad with a numeric 5 digit code will be printed within the pages of The Kansas City Star. The page with the code ad will be chosen by random. The code in the ads will change daily and will not be duplicated during the contest period. Finding and providing the code by one of the listed valid means constitutes an entry. Entries will be accepted 3 ways: 1) online, by logging on to KansasCity.com/contest and using the entry blank provided, 2) mail-in, using a postcard or sealed envelope (utilized like a postcard) with a return name and address provided, the code number and a daytime phone number should be written on the back. DO NOT enclose clipped code ads or information in a sealed envelope. Sealed envelopes will not be opened. These entries should be mailed to:

3) a drop box will be provided inside the main entrance of The Kansas City Star, 1729 Grand Blvd., Kansas City, MO. Postcard entries or sealed envelop entries will be accepted when placed inside the drop box. Only one entry, per day, per household will be permitted by any one of these 3 methods.
ADDITIONAL ENTRY: one additional entry, on any one day during the entry period, can be obtained by visiting dealsaver.com/kansascity, register as a dealsaver participant and “buy” the free 10K Giveaway deal.
PRIZE: The $10,000 prize will be awarded to an entry, drawn at random from all entries collected during the 10 week entry period. The prize winning entry must contain a valid code number published during the entry period. The last code will publish Sunday, April 15, 2012 and the winner will be drawn on Thursday, April 19 and notified by phone on or before 5:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012. The winner is required to present a valid driver’s license or other photo ID, fill out and sign a W9 form provided by The Kansas City Star before the prize will be awarded.
ELIGIBILITY: Employees of The Kansas City Star, KansasCity.com and The McClatchy Co., their affiliated subsidiary companies, independent contractors and members of their respective immediate families, including all spouses are not eligible to enter or win. The term “immediate family” includes parents, grand parents, brother, sisters, children and grandchildren. Must be 18 years of age and a resident of Missouri or Kansas to enter and win. Odds on winning depend on the number of entries received.
OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS: The winner agrees that The Kansas City Star, KansasCity.com and The McClatchy Co., their affiliate subsidiary companies, independent contractors and their employees are not liable for any injury, damage caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this giveaway or use of the prize. The Kansas City Star and KansasCity.com are not responsible for the entries that are mutilated, illegible, misdirected, undelivered, late, stolen, incorrect or incomplete. Entrants assume all risks of the same. Winner’s entry and acceptance of the prize constitutes permission to use his or her name, photograph or likeness in the pages of The Kansas City Star, online with KansasCity.com or for other purposes of advertisement or promotion without additional compensation. This giveaway is subject to all federal, state and local laws and taxes and it is the responsibility of the prize winner to comply. No purchase is necessary. The Kansas City Star reserves the right to make changes in the rules of the giveaway which will become effective upon announcement. No substitution, alternative or transfer of the prize is permitted. Failure of a contest entrant or prize winner to abide by the Official Rules will be grounds for disqualification from the giveaway. Participation in the contest constitutes acceptance of all contest rules.
